We are seeking a hands on customer obsessed Sr. Program Manager to join our Amazon Customer Excellence System (ACES) Program and own the continuous improvement program to foster a culture of continuous improvement. You would solves for root causes and not symptoms, influence change at all levels in the organization, and deliver big improvements for our customers. You would dive deep into the processes, programs, and tech to identify and drive improvement opportunities across Amazon Go business. You would develop quality metrics, optimize processes, and execute cross-functional projects to improve customer experience, quality and cost. You will participate in the exchange and promotion of best practices within the Amazon operational world as well as influence and train the Management Team in use of continuous improvement methods.

The successful candidate for this role will be a fast, clear, and independent thinker who is naturally curious about how things work, is metrics and number savvy, has an analytical mindset and has demonstrated leadership ability. You will contribute to and influence the prioritization of local and network project pipeline and process improvement project opportunities through ROI estimates and robust problem statements. Additionally, you are never satisfied with the status quo, can show success in following-up and getting things done and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-centric and ever changing tech environment. This position requires deep customer focus, strong self-motivation and exceptional project management skills. It will involve regular communication with project sponsors and requires you to be detail-oriented and comfortable partnering with cross-functional business and technical teams. To be successful in this role, you need to pair strong analytical skills and a data-driven outlook with strong intuition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement systems, metrics and programs that maximize compliance and continuous improvement. This includes completion of root cause analysis on all defects and using these data to drive continuous improvement activities.
  • Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, seeking to understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions and reasons behind leadership decisions.
  • Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks).
  • Work with program managers, business leaders and executive team to drive critical business initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and govern KPI reporting for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones and performance across all projects.
  • Establish and continually improve the consistency, predictability, and efficiency of the organization's project delivery capability by providing leadership in best practices.
  • Engage other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and improve end-to-end outcomes for Amazon customers.
  • Support development and continuous Piloting of Process Improvements and ongoing Benchmarking Initiatives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of experience in program or project management
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
  • 5+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  • 5+ years of experience delivering cross functional projects

  • Bachelor's Degree in math, engineering, science, operations, logistics, supply chain or related field.
  • Analytical background - seven quality tools, SPC, Hypothesis Testing, Regression Analysis, Expertise in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other OE tools
  • Advanced data analysis skills and an expert in using supporting tools e.g. Minitab, JMP, MS Excel, MS Access, Experience in writing SQL queries and mining databases
  • Experience communicating and presenting to senior leaders with the ability to influence without authority.
  • Experience in leading people/teams without formal responsibility and building rapport with teams across all levels.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced degree/Master's degree (Industrial Engineering, Math, Engineering, Science, Business) from an accredited university.
  • Understanding of AI and ML applications and uses.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to converse with technology teams to bridge the language gap between business and tech.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification
