Job Description
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Work with marketing and Design to develop packaging concepts appropriate for each project
2. Responsibilities include managing the process to ensure excellent launch execution.
3. Develop, update and archive packaging component drawings and specifications
4. Strong understanding of packaging process and packaging equipment.
5. Ensure packaging concepts optimized for manufacturing and cost constraints
6. Create specifications for product shipper box and palletization
7. Coordinate packaging quality testing per international shipping standards
8. Define and select a material specification to meet cost constraints and sustainability guidelines
9. Determines logistics parameters for new packaging (e.g. weights, dims, material content)
10. Strong experience in component development including and not limited to knowledge of stability studies, feasibility study, packaging trials, shipping studies and validation
11. Create documents, specifications, Bill of Materials (BoM) & release using PLM software
Experience & Skills:
1. Experience in Design and/or manufacturing of Paperboard and corrugate structures, thermoformed blister cards and clamshells, polybags
2. Working knowledge of Esko ArtiosCAD, CAPE Pack, Adobe Illustrator, Solidworks
3. Knowledge of ISTA protocols
4. Project management skills, including planning and organization skills
5. Knowledge of PLM system (preferably Windchill)
6. Microsoft Office suite
Education:
1. Bachelors / Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Packaging Science graduate with Degree in Packaging Technology from reputed Institute/University
2. Working experience3+ years
