Infra PM
Role Purpose
. Forging and developing relationships with Business Tower aligned partners, in addition to the GTIS support teams in global locations
. Participating with the transformation of the delivery service in line with the O&T strategy
. Representing the DM function across O&T
. Communicates with the business to define project scope and priorities
. Identifies, mobilises and manages resource requirements for delivery of the projects
. Management and coordination of the x86 platform estate. This includes server hardware installs, moves, additions, issue remediation and changes to multiple sites, offices and data centres and advanced hands-on configuration of infrastructure systems

Key Accountabilities
. Delivering changes to the infrastructure in support of client requirements
. Contributing to the development and implementation of policies and standards
. Interfacing with internal stakeholders, engaging with 3rd party suppliers, participation in service meetings
. Escalation of issues with internal teams and suppliers
. Undertaking work outside of direct responsibility when required, including some/all of the following:
. Maintaining server allocation details for new and re-use servers
. Allocate server names and IP addresses to internal project managers and support teams
. Managing the end-to-end server installation / move / configuration process
. Interfacing with Hardware Delivery Services - Procurement Team in procurement process
. Interfacing with GDS Build Team in build process
. Engagement at mobilisation phase with projects to provide advice and agree hardware requirements and timelines
. Raising appropriate requests for server installation, moves, additions, configuration and changes
. Raising Change Requests using change management tool
. Identification, implementation, development and automation of new processes that operations are and will be responsible for.

Person Specification
. Knowledge of Wintel platform
. Basic understanding of data centre technologies, such as SAN, LAN/WAN networks, Blades Servers
. Basic knowledge of x86 platform
. Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate clearly over the phone and in meetings / conference calls
. Training in communication techniques and handling of challenging interpersonal situations
. Willing to work flexible hours (early morning / late nights) in order to resolve issues with help from employees in other regions
. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic issues in the above technologies
. Good time management skills
. Fluency in English is essential

Qualifications and Experience

. Educated to degree level or equivalent experience, with proven ability to work within a Project-related IT function.


. Working knowledge of ITIL
. IT Support background
. Ideally, the jobholder would have experience of the Financial Services Industry

Able to create operational technology solutions which address the challenge of:

. Being deliverable within reasonable time and budgetary constraints
. Correspond to PCB and CIBWM strategic guidance and is able to challenge constructively when reviewing solutions proposed by peers and subordinates
. Additionally, demonstrates ability to produce solutions which are technically innovative and leading edge thinking
. Able to challenge senior stakeholders creatively and professionally to create solutions which meet all of the above criteria but which are not necessarily obvious responses to pre-defined requests

Technical Knowledge

. Understanding of project disciplines and life-cycle
. Understanding of ITIL processes and associated concepts
. High degree of commercial awareness with sound understanding of key contractual obligations and risks to maximize benefits

Service Delivery and Support

. Good understanding of concepts of service delivery and support
. Solid experience of operating large scale PMO Environments with highly demanding clients

Stakeholder management

. Presents a positive, professional, constructive image to all customers and suppliers alike, including very senior stakeholders
. Understands the needs and challenges of stakeholders involved in projects, and can negotiate satisfactory resolution to complex issues surrounding creation and implementation of technology solutions
. Working with peer group in the business, can identify customer satisfaction gaps through regular communication
. Able to lead presentation of solutions and options to business, chair discussions and meetings, and construct clear document packs.


. Actively seeks ways to understand, mitigate or reduce risks, drawing on expert advice, risk assessment, and management reports.
