The Role Responsibilities
As head of Design Engineering and Strategy program

  • Deliver Integration Journey programs and continuously make ET-IS ,%26ldquo;Fit For Purpose %26ldquo; and %26ldquo;Fit for Future%26rdquo;.

  • Evolve Integration landscape to Multi Cloud implementation and work with CIO teams to support their cloud Journeys

  • Has deep understanding of current issues plaguing ET-IS and is proactive in solving the chronic issues through automation, devops and engineering mindset.

  • Transform ET-IS product offering to %26ldquo;Managed Service %26ldquo;model. Strive to improve CIO Client experience through %26ldquo;Self -Service and Platform as a Service initiatives%26rdquo;

  • Delivery obsolesce remediation journeys and any product migration (Examples - EDMi Broker to Solace, EDMi WS to API ) in rapid and repeatable way.

  • Responsible to identify and segregate high volume / high critical data flows to dedicated/ring fenced infrastructure to reduce blast radius during a production incidence.

  • Engage with Major country CTMs like HK/SG/IN to map out the integration landscape for respective countries and transform the integration estate with country stability and regulation focus.

  • Lead the IS service to design and architect most robust, easy to maintain and cloud friend integration solutions.

  • Chart out the Integration Strategy for the ET-IS for different time horizons -- Short, Medium and Long term.

  • Engage senior stakeholders and domain heads from CIO teams in formalizing the Integration strategy and pursue execution of the strategy as part of CIO driven transformation programs.

  • Manage cross functional team (Soln Architecture, Product experts, etc.. ) in creating the best of the breed integration solution that takes cloud first approach

  • Work with technology product vendors in influencing vendor product roadmap to suit SCB integration needs.


  • Integration Strategy to be developed and implemented based on Client journey and connected client experience

  • All Journey deliveries to be in done with ZERO planned downtimeand zero impact to client systems. Follow blue/green production deployment approach and meticulously plan system upgrades with customer focus.

  • Build high performant team of Integration Developer and Specialist.

  • Spend sufficient time with developers to review delivery quality and challenges them in their areas of opportunity.

  • Socialize the Integration strategy and Journey backlog with key CIO stakeholders.


  • Works with application engineering and support to influence investment decisions on resilience and continuity during design specification and solution, delivery phases and all to way to operation and support.

  • Support the Bank in the technology efficiency and cost of services, monitoring of service availability, improving Business %26amp; CIO satisfaction, gathering feedback %26amp; implementing process enhancements for further improvements.

  • Be on top of the Risks and Issues and work through the mitigation and action plan.


  • Define Overall Integration strategy and security principles.

  • Define service management strategy, services improvements for Integration Services.

  • Be responsible to Global Head Integration Services, Engineering heads and Business CIOs, for technology services across support teams, infrastructure services delivery and technology operations functions.

  • Work with technology CIOs to agree on stability / availability needs, manages delivery to SLAs, produces plans to achieve expected stability / availability.

  • Chair service delivery meetings to drive service availability agenda.

  • Actively participate in Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management: contribute to resolving incidents via business impact assessment, stakeholder communications, trend analysis for incident reduction, root cause analysis, facilitate action closure, proactive prevention of repeat incidents.

  • Ensure all risks have appropriate mitigation plan and ensure proactive management of Audits within Integration Services.

  • Ensure Key Risk Indicators are appropriately documented, tracked and reported on periodic basis to ET Management.

People and Talent

  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Sets appropriate tone and expectations for their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.

  • Employ, engage and retain high-quality people such that the team is skilled and experienced to deliver its obligations.

  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development, ensure that direct reports are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles and that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.

  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.

Risk Management

  • Proactive in seeking regular assurance that this team is performing to an acceptable risk and control standard.

  • Act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness become apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and escalated through the relevant committees.

  • As required, act as the risk control owner under the Group%26rsquo;s risk management framework at the appropriate level.

  • Balance business performance delivery and technology cost management constraints with risk and control matters to ensures that they do not materially threaten the Group%26rsquo;s ability to remain within risk appetite.

  • Ensure focus and effective support of internal and external audit activities


  • Embed the Group%26rsquo;s values and code of conduct in the team to ensure that adherence to the highest standards of ethics and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employee%26rsquo;s form part of the culture.

  • Ensure compliance with all salient SCB governance frameworks where there are direct touchpoints or any subsequent downstream influence

  • Ensure compliance with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements. This includes compliance with local banking laws and anti-money laundering regulations and guidelines.

  • Represent Integration Services in relevant Process Governance and Steering Committees.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Demonstrated background in managing complex and multiple businesses and/or IT initiatives (implementation projects and programmes) to completion, on time, within budget and quality.

  • Experience with all phases of the whole life cycle of IT investments including stakeholder management, business case development, defining specifications and scope, SOW/contracts, financial estimating and costing, and detail work plans.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with executive management, clients, and other stakeholders.

  • Ability to mentor and train the Service Managers and MQ experts on best practice

  • Strong management, leadership, problem solving, motivational, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • This role would require %26gt;15 years of relevant experience in establishing processes and governance for large (%26gt;5,000) Technology teams across dispersed geographies. A very good understanding of technology facets, risk and service delivery, e.g. development, security and infrastructure is necessary. International exposure, ability to handle cultural diversity and developing high performers are essential to this role
