Department Overview

The Enterprise Technology Infrastructure (ETI) team within the Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) is responsible for enterprise-wide infrastructure services across the global footprint, including networking, production services, storage, data centers, mainframe, midrange and Cloud-based systems, distributed systems, and international infrastructure.


About Role
s and Responsibility:
The Network Engineer performs advanced level network support, diagnosis, troubleshooting and resolution for routine to complex change implementations. Independently evaluates complex designs and change implementations in high availability environments. Makes decisions on order of operation, recovery actions and change execution providing operational oversight for availability purposes. Provide input to Technical Organizations such as Network Engineering to resolve complex issues related to implementation plans. Evaluate Testing, certification, installation and configuration of replaced and upgraded network hardware and software. Responds to change related break/fix issues assisting operational and network engineering teams with recovery efforts as needed. Applies a general understanding of technical dependencies and alternatives to support customer needs in a 24x7 environment.





Essential Qualifications

• 
  5+ years network engineering experience.
• 
  Able to work independently and as a member of a high performance, geographically dispersed team.
• 
  Strong PC skills.
• 
  In-depth knowledge of network hardware and software, network infrastructure and design, topologies and protocols.
• 
  Experience peer reviewing advanced implementation plans related to complex routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
• 
  Experience peer reviewing advanced implementation plans involving VoIP technologies and their applications.
• 
  Experience peer reviewing advanced implementation plans in a secure network environment utilizing load balancing switches, firewalls, and layer 7 network technologies.
• 
  Broad knowledge of systems Server hardware and Operating Systems.
• 
  Strong understanding of HPNA, UserPro, Remedy, DMS, and DevicePro 2.

Desired Qualification
:

• 
  Bachelor's degree
• 
  Advanced level Industry standard certifications in network disciplines such as Network+, CCNA and CCNP.
• 
  Solid understanding of network management applications and technologies to include SNMP configuration of network devices.

Basic understanding of software, scripting languages, system utilities, operating systems, tape processing, data transmissions, incident and change management principles, etc.
